The museum and café “Zum Arabischen Coffebaum” is one of the oldest coffee houses in the whole world. Here you can enjoy an excellent coffee or hot chocolate, have dinner in rustic-style or sophisticated ambience or learn everything about coffee making in the museum upstairs.
The baroque plastic at the entrance shows a proud Ottoman with a little Amor and was a present to the former landlady Johanna Elisabeth Lehmann by elector and king of Saxony August, the Strong. Legend has it that both had a passionate love affair. Whether this is true or not, the Coffe Baum is definitely a special place in Leipzig.
