Museum for Contemporary History

The museum provides a deeper look into the history of the GDR in a very modern and entertaining way. With original letters, photos, films, books and items of everyday use it especially concentrates on the political repression, opposition and civil courage, resistance but also the everyday life in the GDR. Furthermore the museum gives an insight into the whole process of the peaceful revolution in 1989 and its way to the re-unification of Germany.
