With more than 120.000 travellers, commuters and visitors per day and with about 84.000 square metres, Leipzig Central Station is the biggest terminal station in Europe.
But besides that it is also a huge shopping centre. After the old station was rebuilt in the 1990's it now offers 142 different shops, boutiques, restaurants and supermarkets on three floors which are called the PROMENADEN. Here you can buy almost everything you need no matter if you're looking for clothes, electronics, books or if you just want to have a snack and a coffee. On weekdays they are open until ten in the evening and even on Sunday half of the shops open their doors for tourists, visitors and travellers.
